SDCC 2004

I'll be attending the San Diego Comicon from July 22 - 25th.

http://www.comic-con.org/Pages/CCIWhatsNew.html

I'll be there flitting about Top Shelf, Global Hobo [representing Alternative Comics], AdHouse, Dark Horse, CBLDF, and various other publisher booths, showing off current [THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF THE ESCAPIST #3] and upcoming projects [VAMPIRELLA #8, BIZARRO COMICS Vol.2, PROJECT: SUPERIOR, JAIL BAIT, etc.], sketching randomly and bugging editors accordingly. Probably skinny dip at the Fantagraphics Beach party.

Also, I'm scheduled for some events:

The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist ~ Signing -- Thursday, July 22, from 5:00 - 6:30PM at the Dark Horse Comics booth.

The New Mainstream -- Comics is a medium that embraces all possible genres, yet the comics press seems to focus on just two extremes: superhero/action (Wizard) or literary (The Comics Journal). The reader-friendly, accessible material that falls somewhere in the middle of these extremes has been dubbed the New Mainstream. What types of comics and graphic novels fall into this category, and how can the material find its readers? Panelists included in this panel are Batton Lash, Dean Haspiel, Colleen Doran, Max Allan Collins, David Brin, Eric Shanower, and Stuart Moore. R.C. HARVEY has agreed to moderate. This panel is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, from 2:00 - 3:30pm, in room 7A.

Fingers are crossed that I'll be able to announce my next big project at the Vertigo panel. Hope to see you there!
