Dean Haspiel at Wildcat Comicon

I will be at Wildcat Comicon this coming Saturday and doing two panels:

Saturday, April 14th

Dean Haspiel's different approaches to comics storytelling
2:00PM - 3:00PM
Presenter(s): Dean Haspiel
What does an artist need to consider when creating a specific look and feel for each project? How do you define style for a story by Harvey Pekar versus a story for DC Comics or your own original works? Comics industry veteran and Emmy Award-winning creator Dean Haspiel will discuss the wide ranges of approaches needed for projects like "American Splendor" and "The Quitter" with Harvey Pekar, "The Alcoholic" and "Bored to Death" with Jonathan Ames, "Cuba: My Revolution" with Inverna Lockpez, or solo efforts like "Billy Dogma" and many of his own projects.

Building Your Comics Team
3:00PM - 4:00PM
Presenter(s): Mark McKenna, Jim Zubkavich, Dean Haspiel
Putting together a team of comics creators is very much like creating an ensemble of actors or musicians. In comics, a creative team can consist of a writer, penciler, inker, colorist, and an editor. It is critical to the success of a project that team members share a common vision of the story.
