So, I recently formed a comix art studio in Gowanus [inbetween Carroll Gardens and Park Slope] with five other cartoonists [most of whom draw for act_i_vate]. We dubbed it DEEP6 Studios and it's been working out pretty swell. I managed to make this weeks deadline in the new space [away from my home phone and the internet] and I'm dropping off artwork to the Vertigo Comics offices today before I go to Coney Island with SBX and friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. Come Friday morning I'm off to BEA [Book Expo America] at the Jacob Javits Center to discuss ideas with the folks who run NYCC [New York Comicon] for next years show and check out all the book publishers free swag, galleys, and upcoming releases, before SBX and I hop a bus to watch reruns of MAUDE and relax my cranky bones in the Catskills for the weekend.
