3:45pm: Four years later
After coming back home from a wonderful J51 reunion and wedding celebration for my good pals Blazm and Debbie in Southold, NY, I was completely side-swiped by the fact that today was the fourth anniversary of 9-11. Not wanting to celebrate the tragedy, I felt it necessary to observe 9-11 by showing the 6pp comic I made today, instead. In remembering the devastating events that occurred that week, I felt useless, angry, and scared. It was indymag that suggested I write & draw my experience and he would publish it. It was my good friend 4_eyez who rallied me when I couldn't type or lift my brush. At the time, my freedom of expression helped me deal with a most harrowing terror. It's 4-years later and now, what with how America decided to fight that terror and how our government handled the victims of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, I feel more scared about America than what happened when the Twin Towers fell.

This is how I first experienced 9-11Collapse )
