Shelley Winters was my godmother and the most fascinating 20th Century Woman. A brassy, Hollywood sexpot and talented actress/teacher for all genres, Shelly introduced my parents to each other and taught me how to hold my breath under water and learn how to swim. Were it not for her, I might not be here.
