Struggled with the first quarter of NIGHT FALLS ON YANCY STREET 2. Just don't have the steam, some days. Don't know how Jack Kirby did it. Different times. But, I managed to get to page 7 of issue 2, before succumbing to the upcoming Turkey Holidays. So, I'm in okay shape. Pages are looking tight. Dorkin provided me with some solid layouts that are helping expedite the progress.
Still haven't heard back from DC editor Joey C., about Bertozzi and my 5pp OMAC pitch for BIZARRO 2. This waiting game is annoying. Simple 'Yay' or 'Nay' would suffice. I need to focus on the THING project at hand, any-old-how. I promised editor Lis, I would since he's threatened to put an inker on me to get it done. Word is bond. Pangs for drawing BILLY DOGMA are weighing in heavy, these days. Spoke to SBX about quitting this Live Journal forum so that I could focus those extra few hours a week on churning out BILLY DOGMA, rather than pipe in about my life. Can't decide what to do. In a way, this is good therapy for me and I'll probably get more than just an embarrassed chuckle when I read this in the future, but it's crippling my ability to meet deadlines. If only I could do it all. Gotta wrangle a schedule...
Watched '24' with Mike & Marie last night. That's some good high-tech Shakespeare, yo. Shit is flying out of the right side of left field. Brrrr. Shiver. Keep me cringing for mo'!
Today, I hope the sunny weather cooperates long enough [after last night's rainstorm and this morning's light flurries] so that I can take SBX & The Girls to see the flat, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons unfurl and get blown up into ginormous floats up by the Museum of Natural History near Central Park. Something my father used to take me to every year, until girls got in my way and childhood tradition fell to the gutter. I used to search for MIGHTY MOUSE and watch his ears magically fold out into massive black sails. KERMIT THE FROG and BULLWINKLE were never far behind. Gotta reign in the nostalgia and update the data banks with some new memories. One with my lady and her girls.
SBX hand-made me a beautiful card celebrating my SPIDER-MAN'S TANGLED WEB [#20] debut -- due out today! Bought all the brand spanking new comics. Guess what one comic did NOT ship to Jim Hanley's Universe?
Are you kidding me?
