I just saw the Dark Knight last night. Brilliant though I could have done without the absurdly gravely Bat-voice.

Remember how the Joker killed Commissioner Loeb? I think that Batman was very suspicious of beverages as a result (Bruce Wayne was seen pouring a whole glass of champagne onto some bushes at the Harvey Dent fundraiser), and decided to forego drinking anything until the Joker was brought to justice.

But yeah, I think the film needed subtitles. I couldn't make out any of Batman's speeches, and I lost a good amount of dialogue whenever the soundtrack really kicked in. My wife's not sure that there were any scenes at all that didn't have background music.
